¡The new force of Hogar de Cristo: The Youth!

Young people are committed to fight against extreme poverty. Through this program, high school students, make savings programs in order to support with Housing and Education to poor Ecuadorian families.

Participating High Schools: Liceo Panamericano, Santiago Mayor, Naciones Unidas, Femenino Espíritu Santo, Santo Domingo de Guamán, Instituto Particular Abdón Calderón.

Liceo Panamericano

EnIn 2005, students from Liceo Panamericano High School developed the “mi ahijado sí estudia” (my sponsored does study) Program which sponsored 289 children from poor schools such us: Senderos de la Flor, Hno. Roberto Costa, Ceferino Namancura, Francisco Cevallos, Zapatito azul, 25 de Junio, all them located in North Perimetral zone.
In 2004, these students also participated in a Housing program; they were able to help 10 poor families in Christmas season.

Santiago Mayor

In 2005, students from Santiago Mayor High School, through “Scholar Solidarity” Program, sponsored 153 children from the following schools: Acción por Cristo, Travesuras de Aleyda, Miguel Roca Osorio, Blanca García Plaza de Arias, all them located in the North Perimetral zone.
In 2004, students also participated in a Housing program. They donated 3 houses for families living in extreme poverty.

Instituto Particular Abdón Calderón

In 2004 and 2005 students from IPAC made many efforts and activities in order to deliver houses to very poor families in Boca de Caña Area.
In 2004, they donated 25 houses and in 2005 they benefit 30 families with a house. The social work of this of this high school is focused on the previous mentioned sector. The objective is that students participate actively in the development of this community.

Femenino Espíritu Santo

In 2005 students from Femenino Espíritu Santo High School, through “Scholar Solidarity for Education” Program, sponsored 347 children from poor schools such us: Proverbios, Rosa Elena Guerrero Sánchez, Nuevo Rumbo Cultural, Fiscal Sin Nombre 484, Cosme Renella, Mama Margarita, located in the North Perimetral zone.
In 2004, students also participated in a Housing program. They donated one house to a very poor family.

Santo Domingo de Guzmán

In 2005, students from Santo Domingo de Guzmán made collections on May and June in order to participate in the “Scholar Solidarity for Education” sponsoring 145 children for 7 months..

Naciones Unidas

In 2005, students from Naciones Unidas High School, through “Scholar Solidarity for Education” Program, sponsored 92 children from the following schools: Francisco García (Tio Paco), Aprendiendo con Arthur, Jehová es mi Bandera and Simon Bolivar, located in the North Perimetral zone.
In 2004, students also participated in a Housing program. They donated two house to families in extreme poverty conditions..
