In 2002, we received a donation of some terrains located in strategic zones inside the slums where there are many solidarity groups formed by our users. Thus, in these terrains we built 7 healthcare centers. In 2005, we offered medical attention to 42,283 patients.

The healthcare centers offer preventive and hilling health attention. Cases of more serious illnesses are sent to Hospitals or Specialized Medical Centers, thanks to strategic alliances made by Hogar de Cristo.

Each beneficiary receives an ID according to their family economical situation. Thus, it is possible to subsidize the cost of medicines and medical check up. When they have large quantity of children and/or very low incomes the subsidy is higher.
