We serve to the poorest families who live in extreme poverty in the provinces of: Guayas, El Oro, Los Ríos, and Esmeraldas. We work for the “Integral Development of Families (DIF)” through our programs of Housing, Micro-credit, Health and Education programs. These provinces represent the 49% of the country population.
The lack of hope can not be measured by numbers; however poverty figures are alarming and give us an idea of the long road ahead.
Hogar de Cristo works with solidarity groups – conjoint families that live close to one an another. Hogar de Cristo goes with the solidarity group throughout the process motivating the self-management and communitarian work. We avoid “paternalism” and work for the promotion of the individual.
